Fernando Fuentes de la Parra obtained two degrees from Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College: a B.S. in Energy Engineering and a B.S. in Energy Business & Finance. Afterwards, he ventured to the San Francisco Bay Area, the cradle of renewable energy and entrepreneurship, to work with the best and learn from the best. Fernando held business development positions at SunEdison, SunPower, and Lightsource BP, focusing on ideating business models, go-to-market strategies, and pricing mechanisms for new products and services, particularly energy storage systems integrated to solar systems. Notably Fernando and his team at SunPower developed a pipeline of 12.5 MW of energy storage pegged to large-scale solar projects and closed on 1.5 MW of these.
His experience in business development & project finance and his engineering degree have allowed him to act as a bridge between highly technical teams and the customers they serve. Fernando has studied and invested in blockchain technology since 2015 and finds the space ideal to pursue a career of impact given blockchain’s technological innovation and intellectual property.
Among other things, Fernando loves trail running and triathlons. Take him out for a jog/spin/plunge.
